Business Venture

Gising- Gising!
(seafood with mixed veggies in oyster sauce)

Ever wonder why I chose to add this sumptuous meal ? I cooked this with the help of my youngest brother, because we like to eat out especially if it's a dish served on a sizzling plate, uhhm! a bonding moment for us after so many years that I was away since I got married and trying to be a good homemaker, for almost five years that i haven't kept in touch with my siblings. A busy mom and wife i never thought that i would explore the life of an entreperneur.

I am ON MY JOURNEY of becoming a business expert but my dad is a great businessman and maybe I got those drives from him and as i tried every steps on venturing to different loops of the business world, it was not as easy as it seems; it booms, fails, survives, as long as I have capital to invest, I keep on thinking of investing on business that will click.

So i created this blog for hands-on moms like me who never stopped thinking of ways to earn extra income and i will use lay men's term to easily understand how business starts, grew and better yet expand! Who knows, maybe YOU will be the next successful entrepreneur?!

And please note that being successful is not enough, share your blessings to others, So feel free to add some of your ideas, suggestions or comments because this blog is for good samaritans too with entrepreneural spirit like me waiting to come out...

*My First Venture

Well as many first-timers I didn't know where to start, all I knew was that I have money and I want to have a business and since my hubby was very supportive, he gave me a capital to start a mini boutique, found a location in a mall which I thought was a good business site. You know how it feels having your first ever business? it felt like having your first crush and just like that you feel great but reality sets in, I don't know how i can manage being a mom and a businesswoman at the same time, i hired a sales person and all my income just went to expenses! and sadly i had to quit that easy.
I thought i have read a good book, but experience indeed is a great teacher, so I asked a business expert my dad...

So here's a simple tip.
1. Research on the business you like and focus
2. If you have capital make sure it is enough to cover all expected expenses like rent,
labor, electricity and items you are to sell.
3. No capital? try first to be an apprentice of the business you like to venture.
4. If you are already decided, find a good location, a good location where your target market are
visible and large in number.
Target market: Class A; Class B; Class C;

as a beginner you have to set a budget and stick to it.
Pricing is important add all you expenses like materials, labor, fare and multiply it by 2 that will be your price for your items.

example:
necklace: purchase materials : 100
transpo: 100
labor: 100
Total price: 300 x 2= 600 selling price in cash.

Wholesale Price: deduct 20-30% on selling price paid in cash.

If you plan to set up in a mall multiply the Total price to 4 to cover up additional expenses for rent, labor, electricity, transportation allowance etc. (ex. 300 x 4 = 1200)

Make sure the space you will rent has a good foot traffic and see to it that people stay long on that area...

the return on investment varies depends on the business you like to set up the rule of the thumb is the bigger the investment the longer the return of investment.
so take baby steps try a home based business first and watch it grow...
